Job Summary of Janitor:

This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and visual appeal of the office premises, including tasks like basic cleaning, minor HVAC maintenance, small building repairs, and assisting with events. The person in this position takes on a leadership role in managing janitorial duties and fills in when there are staff shortages. Emphasizing safety, efficiency, and keeping tasks well-organized are crucial for excelling in this job.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Janitor:

• Conduct minor building upkeep such as painting, installing objects, routing cables, and relocating machinery.
• Perform routine HVAC upkeep tasks like changing filters.
• Perform tasks related to overall cleanliness such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing various surfaces.
• Provide support in the arrangement and dismantling of meeting and event venues.
• Keep track of cleaning supplies inventory levels and provide updates on required restocking.
• Uphold adherence to regulations concerning health and safety requirements.
• Provide assistance with outdoor upkeep such as clearing snow and tending to landscape duties.
• Act as the leader for the cleaning crew and step in when there are absences or insufficient staffing levels.
• Help with organizing parking arrangements, setting up for events, and providing security assistance during gatherings.
• Offer assistance with cold weather preparations such as applying salt and clearing snow from pathways.
• Assistance is offered for relocating offices and cubicles, which covers arranging equipment installation and undertaking minor maintenance work.
• Finish additional assignments promptly as delegated by department management.

Qualifications and Experience of Janitor:

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is a necessary requirement.
• Preferred qualifications include completion of a trade school program.
• A minimum of one to two years of maintenance experience is necessary, with a preference for three to four years of experience.
• Strong abilities in expressing oneself clearly both orally and in writing.
