Job Summary of Assistant Merchant:

Bath & Body Works is seeking a highly organized and product-focused individual to support the execution of seasonal line plans, new product development, testing strategies, and cross-functional communication. This role is essential in helping drive brand growth by assisting in commercialization, analyzing consumer insights, and supporting successful in-store launches for designated product categories.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Merchant:

• Support strategic planning for brand growth, including product development, pricing, promotions, education, and performance analysis.
• Assist in preparing internal presentations, drafting documents, and creating materials for cross-functional and executive meetings.
• Coordinate new development projects including required documentation, cost analysis, and cross-team communication.
• Ensure alignment on product descriptions, claims, and visual aesthetics across teams.
• Partner with Commercialization Services to track timelines and communicate potential risks or delays.
• Assist in creating seasonal line plans that align with brand and merchandise strategy.
• Analyze business results and customer feedback to support insights, opportunities, and merchandising strategies.
• Support meeting preparation, sample management, and business reporting with actionable recommendations.
• Research competitor assortments, pricing, and promotional strategies.
• Conduct regular store visits to gather insights from customers and sales associates.

Qualifications and Experience of Assistant Merchant:

• 1–3 years of experience in brand development, merchandise buying, or retail management.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in retail math.
• Passion for product development and customer satisfaction.
• Self-starter with a high level of accuracy and independence.
• Ability to lead through challenges, problem-solve, and foster collaboration.
• Strong relationship-building and teamwork skills.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
