Job Summary:

Responsible for maintaining and repairing mobile and portable equipment, including specialized heavy-duty airport vehicles. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing overhauls, and ensuring the operational readiness of a fleet comprising over 350 specialized units used in airport operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain emergency rescue and operations vehicles, including firetrucks, air stairs, response light vehicles, foam trailers, and pumps.
  • Service and repair summer operations equipment such as mowers, backhoes, excavators, and road maintenance vehicles.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot winter operations vehicles and equipment used for snow and ice control.
  • Repair and upkeep specialty equipment and tooling.
  • Organize, schedule, and oversee work areas and facility operations.
  • Provide guidance and share expertise with assigned apprentices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of recent, relevant experience.
  • Red Seal or BC Trade Qualification in Truck and Transport Mechanic (TTM) or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (HDET).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety.
  • Valid BC driver’s license (Class 1 preferred; minimum Class 3 with air brake endorsement).

Salary:

Annual salary ranging from $78,537 to $102,646 based on a 40-hour workweek, determined by experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
